Virtual Forest Bathing

Research reveals that "using 3D/ Virtual Reality is an efficient way to introduce natural settings to participants who could not otherwise access nature" for the purposes of greater relaxation, better sleep and less stress.

.

🌱

A study compared the effects of watching 3D /VR (virtual reality) nature scenes with 2D images of nature.

.

🌱

The results revealed that:

.

- The prefrontal cortex (the planning and worrying part of the brain which has to wind down in order to get good sleep):

.

AND

.

-The sympathetic nervous activity (activated in a stressful situation)

.

SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED while the participants looked at the 3D/ VR images of nature ather than the 2D images of nature.
