Meet the Team
John Wilson
For 25 years, John has been following the ways of Joseph Rael (Beautiful Painted Arrow) a Native American elder.
John supports people's connection with Nature and with themselves. He holds a beautiful space that he is both nurturing and reflective and brings into his work all of the elements so that we can learn from everything around us.
John has been holding a sweat lodge ceremonies for 18 years and he is also an IKAP Kambo practitioner and Shiatsu Therapist.
Liz Dawes
Liz is a Forest Therapy Guide, trained and certified by ANFT and is also a trained mindfulness coach.
As a guide (not a therapist), Liz helps participants to slow down, to bring attention to their body and their senses, and to the place they are in. Liz passionately believes that a heart connection to nature can heal ourselves, and the natural environment.
Based at Broughton Hall Estate, Liz has been guiding forest bathing walks since 2019 for individuals, workplace teams and public groups.
Practical Information

The retreat will commence at 4:30pm on 17th May. You will be allowed to check into your room from 2:00pm onwards. We therefore suggest booking tickets with an arrival time that allows sufficient time for travel from the train station to the estate.

The closest rail station to the estate is Skipton Railway Station. You may book a car or taxi from outside the station, quoting Broughton Hall Estate, Skipton, Yorkshire BD23 3AE as the address to bring you directly to the estate. Total journey time if local traffic conditions permit will be approximately 15 minutes.

The retreat will end at 2pm on 21st May and you may be required to vacate your room at 10am.
